Options

The options window contains settings for display units, background map source, and other settings.

To open the options window, click on Options in the FILE  or quick access menus:

Display Units

Distance, depth and speed units can be selected using the drop-down list boxes. Use the Metric or US buttons to quickly change all units to either the US or metric system.

GPS coordinate display can be one of DD.mm.ddd, DD.mm.ss or DD.dddddd.

Note that all coordinates within the Waypoint Manager are expressed in WGS84.

Background Maps

By default, the Waypoint Manager uses the Open Cycle Map (Open Street Map) background map source. Alternative WMTS or HTTP map sources can be configured, if required, and the active map source can be selected using the drop-down list. See Configuring Background Map Sources for more information.

Please note that background maps within the Waypoint Manager are not suitable for trip planning.

Other Settings

Use Hardware Graphics Acceleration If Available

The Waypoint Manager can use hardware graphics acceleration to improve the performance of the sonar viewer, and also contains a software rendering fall-back. If the sonar viewer is not working as expected, try disabling the use of hardware graphics acceleration by un-checking this option. Note that the Waypoint Manager needs to be restarted before the change takes effect.

Use Waypoint Clustering

When zoomed out in the map view, waypoint clustering replaces groups of waypoints with an icon showing the number of waypoints in that location. This option improves application performance when large numbers of waypoints have been loaded and keeps the map view less cluttered, but can be disabled by using this checkbox if required.

Show Asset Information Boxes in Map View

Holding the mouse pointer over a waypoint, trail or route within the map view will show further information about that asset in an information box. This behaviour can be disabled by de-selecting this option.
