What’s new in version 2.0 of ReefMaster?
ReefMaster v2.0 has an updated, simplified user interface, comprehensive in-app help, much more flexible map project editing and a totally rebuilt sidescan mosaic engine that uses hardware graphics acceleration that provides extra features and improved performance.
Map Projects
Projects and User Maps have been combined to make Map Projects, a single new asset class that can be generated in place and edited.
·Generated maps are now saved to the database, so that maps do not need to be rebuilt every time a workspace is opened.
·Maps are generated with a set of layers, each of which is fully editable. Layers include major and minor contours, isobaths, shaded relief and more.
·Map design is much more flexible - layers can be ordered, copied between maps, imported from file or drawn by hand, and any number of layers can be combined to produce a single map.
·Images can be combined with generated maps and included in exports to Lowrance units, image files and Google Earth.
·A single water level offset can be applied to an entire map, to make adjusting maps for varying lake levels simple.
·Spot Depths can be added to fill in any gaps in the source data.
·A new function is available to easily create survey lines for use when collecting map data.
Map Exports
·Export maps in multi-scale MBTiles format for use on mobile devices.
·WYSIWYG map image export at very high resolutions.
·Much more control over AT5 exports for Lowrance and Simrad devices including support for earlier AT5 versions to run maps on older devices.
·RGB colour exports for AT5 map polygons and isobaths for an unlimited range of map colours (compatible with HDS Gen2 onwards).
Sidescan Mosaic
·All new hardware accelerated graphics engine for fast rendering of in-situ sidescan imagery.
·Automatic blending of images from multiple swaths makes producing large, multi-track mosaics extremely fast.
·Sidescan imagery now shown at all zoom levels.
·Hardware accelerated noise reduction and sharpening of sidescan and sonar images.
·Headings support for sidescan mosaics for more accurate images.
·Swap sonar channel sides with a single click.
Sonar Viewer
·Support for the new Lowrance and Simrad SL3 file format.
·All new hardware accelerated graphics engine for fast rendering of sonar images.
·Hardware accelerated noise reduction and sharpening of sidescan and sonar images.
Other Changes
·Data sets have been removed and are no longer part of ReefMaster. There are no plans to restore this feature.
·Tide stations have been moved to the Global Settings window.
