Hi,
How does Reefmaster estimate sediment volume, is this somehow registered by the Lowrance sonar and included in the logfile?
(I need to estimate the volume of sediment in a pond and I wonder if I can use reefmaster to calculate this from a sonar file or if I need to take some samples in the pond to estimate sediment depth).
Best regards,
Markus

Sediment volume can only be calculated when there is a known reference depth. This functionality was introduced for surveying man-mad slurry lagoons and the like - see the manual page on volumes and areas for more information. It is unlikely to be useful for surveying a natural pond, unless you have a reference survey from some time before sediment had started accumulating.
