Hello everybody,
I have been reading the forum as a RM user manual and i have bought a second hand Lowrance hds gen2 7 to dedicate to mapping. I will also use it to compare with my old Furuno gp7000f in sonar performance.
There is something that the HDS gen2 can not do for RM purposes?
I plan to map special areas (wrecks and sea mountains from 10 to 110 meters) only, as i normally use a professional fishing chart made across 10+ years of sea bed mapping by some expert fisherman that have enough detail of where and what are the all the things, but not one meter detail of these things.I do not need raster of photo. Just as detailed as possible information of sea bed. I use this chart in a dedicated Garmin plotter.
I have been thinking about buying an used but almost new 200 euro airmar tm150 to pair with the HDS gen2 7 so i can use both sonar (furuno and HDS) at different frequencies. Furuno at 50 and 200 and TM150 at 105khz or other available in the 95/150 range). Perhaps if sonar performance is better in the HDS i would retire the furuno later.
Is that TM150 my better option (price/quality) or i would be better fit with any other transducer?
(i do not want initially to dismantle my old 50/200 i almost use everyday in 200khz) i have a p66 for lowrance but i can not use it at 200khz at the same time with the furuno working at same frequency.
Which output quality exists between RM and Maxsea or TImeZero as it is called now?
I abandon the idea of using TimeZero based on cost and the necessity of using a laptop inside the cabin of my 6,5 meter boat. But i do not know if i would obtain the same image of the sea bed.
I am sorry if i ask too much. I tried finding that information using search but i did not find enough.
Thank you
