A new version of ReefMaster is available, and can be installed using the Check for Updates on the ReefMaster start-up window. This is a maintenance release containing a number of small bug fixes and updates, which are detailed in the installation notes.

The main changes are:
  • Support for Humminbird ONIX sonar log files, including the down-scan channel when available. Note that this support currently comes with the limitation that we cannot determine the start time of ONIX sonar logs, so the time of import is used. The start time must be updated by hand in the track properties window, if required (e.g. for tide offsetting).
  • Depth scales have been added in the contour and 3D views.
  • Background map is now shown by default in the 3D view.
  • There is now the option to hide contour lines in the 3D view, which can make maps look better, especially larger maps.
  • Fixed a number of issues with importing corrupted SL2 log files.
  • Fixed a number of bugs; these are detailed in the installation notes.

Image shows contours turned off in 3D view, with new depth-scale visible bottom-left. The contour visiblity button is circled:

MERCI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can it be possible for the 2 2D channels(Low & Hight frequencies ) select cone angle (it is not the same if it is use to calculate the map)?

for special map of wreck, it can be good to select depth only from DI channel, can we select each channel we want for calculat depth?
For bottom composition can be good to use low frequency chirp channel (28 to 42kHz) for best résults?
Last Edit: 10 years 5 months ago by nitro78. Reason: add file

At the moment all depth values are taken from the primary channel, although we do extract depths from other channels and might one day introduce an option to select the channel to map from. I'm not sure you would get very different depths from the DS channel over a wreck, but you might - it would be interesting to see. What you could do in the mean time is show track-points over the DS view and edit them to match the wreck. It would be a bit of work but you could probably pick the profile of the wreck more accurately than the unit would calculate it. You might also want to experiment with the cone angle for the track and see what gives you the best results.

Exzctly what I want do! Using pencil tool to corect the profil of wrecks. Here 2 screenshot (this evening for image cannot send from where I'm!!) from DI log Better than the "patatoes" from 2D channel!
Will do new log very slowly cutting the wreck in sheets, Iwill get time one pencil tool after but it is only small surface!

Hello!
Humminbird SI units of a file (B000.SON, B001.SON, B002.SON or B003.SON) Record created folders isobath. And where which these 4 files what frequency?

Privet Voda!
That for Humminbird ONIX and ION units with black box SM3000 only give SI, DI files and Low frequencies (28-42kHz) + hight frequencies (135-210kHz) or médium fréquencies (if 2 transducers and 2 SM3000 box)(can get 5 files in extreme!)

And if not ONIX unit and Humminbird Fishfinder 598cxi HD SI Combo, what are the files corresponding to the frequencies?

And is it possible to customize the creation of RM isobaths with a choice of channel frequency?

  • B000, secondary, usually 83khz.
  • B001, primary, usually 200khz. Depths for mapping are taken from here.
  • B002/3, sidescan channels port/starboard. Depths are taken from here for slant-range correction only.
  • B004, down-scan.

It is not possible to select a channel for use in mapping in RM, although we are considering adding that option in the future.
If you *really* want to try a different channel, you can try renaming the .SON file. E.g. rename B000 to B001 before you import the file to RM. RM would then just treat this file as if it were the primary, although you will get some odd effects in the sonar viewer and bottom hardness calculations if you use a sidescan channel as primary.
If you do start changing sonar file names, I would strongly advise taking a backup of the directory first!

Thanks for the detailed answer!
Now everything is clear.
