Hello reef master,

I was processing one date acquired with Lawrance, processed with Reefmaster and post-processed with QGIS.

When opening the attributes tables from the Shapefile generated from the reef master found that the depth value (VALUE COLUMN) shows as Alpha characters (STRING) instead of Decimal numeric type (INTEGER).

I was trying to change stiles base on depth attributes and was not detected as Numeric (INTEGER) Value. As a Workaround I create a new Column and took the VALUES as depth, and formate them as (INTEGER)

Suggestion: to have the Shapefile Colum VALUE as INTEGER for easy integration in any GIS system.

see attached attribute table. and shape files.

Reefmaster's output is designed to work with the IMC. In the case of the IMC, "VALUE" is a general field for what value to populate the feature with. The mode decides whether "VALUE" should be a character, floating point, or floating point range (with VALUE2).

Matt could decide to export an additional numeric field but he's restricted specifically on the "VALUE" field.

The other alternative is to use functions to style by. The epsilon symbol to the right of the column field in the Layer Properties->Symbology dialog provides access to functions including integer conversions.
