Hi NVC.
Have just tried low2ozi - it works and shows the depth graph but the output file (.WPT) has only one string while the source SL3-file is rather big (~60 MB). What I am doing wrong?
I too was trying to get the low2ozi software to work, and I tried quite a few things, and I even translated the instructions from the Cyrllic (at the bottom of this message, since you need to change your windows settings to see even in Russian!). My conclusion is that the saving procedure isn't working properly in windows 10. I tried running it with compatibility modes to no avail. Playing around with the start and end, gives an attempted conversion to SL2 for the 3D format, which fails due to a run-time error '9': subscript out of range, due to the 3D channel not being supported in SL2. I get the WPT file, but thats just a single point when you click that N button. The other buttons just make an image. It's entirely possible that this software isn't supported for our Windows version, and that NVC has it working on their Russian version of windows?
I got it hooked up through its interface to the OziExplorer API and program as well, but that just shows the track I believe, not the 3D points.
Still no sign of a TXT, MP or PLT file.
The translated instructions:
Converter of CSV data from Low2Ozi v16 sonic depth finders,
from echograms of .sl2 / 3 format or from NMEA-logs of OpenLog format .log

* what is already working:
used only with depth data from a Downscan or Primary sensor;
depth conversion in meters, speed in kilometers;
calculation of the distance between neighboring points in meters;
correction in centimeters for depth values;
filtering points by the distance between them in meters;
filtering points by changing the depth between them in centimeters;
* that does not work as it should:
tracking of sharp coordinate shifts on level ground;
skipping erroneous 'lunges' of depths with setting in percent;
direct transfer from echograms to cards without intermediate CSV (will not be soon ...)
the output immediately 3 files: CSV (TXT), MP (only points) and PLT track for Ozi (with depth)
default folders: the last open window of Windows or where the program starts from
OpenLog saves logs with the extension .TXT, before processing, change it to .LOG
05/12/13 the simplest analyzer of 'raw' echograms of the SL2 format is screwed:
the blue line indicates the depth found by the chartplotter's own algorithm;
red - while the maximum depth in meters according to the 'from the end' echogram
the task is to eliminate 'defective' definitions and create your own depth search algorithm
animation can be paused with the '||' button and switch on further with the '>>' button;
animation can be interrupted with the 'X' button and start with an arbitrary picture;
the threshold for the difference in depth in centimeters and the delay time on the “crooked” image are adjusted;
sonar contrast is adjusted (analog of Sensitivity in SonarView);
You can save images using the '[-]' button to a BMP file (in the destination directory);
you can automatically save pictures to a BMP file (in the target directory in the 'echo' folder)
10.24.13 Api is screwed to OziExplorer:
download link
www.oziexplorer3.com/oziapi/oziapi_dll.zip
(copy the OziAPI.dll file to the program folder or to the Windows system directory)
it is possible to save the selected points with a relief or fish with the '/ \ /' and '>)>' buttons;
You can display points and tracks on the map in Ozi in the processing mode of the SL2 file;
You can display the current position in Ozi in the processing mode of the CSV file;
you can reduce the program window with the button '<<<' minimize / expand settings;
Added output to the chart of the current speed recorded in the echogram
02.24.14 added processing of logs from OpenLog:
only NMEA lines of $ GPGGA and $ SDDBT are read, the current time is not indicated;
Added the ability to round the found depth to decimeters;
Added ability to read and process data from Primary echograms
11/29/15 redone output scale depending on the type of sensor;
added test ability to create SI pie charts (did not take off ...)
02/13/16 removed the comparison of depth with the calculated on two SI channels;
Search for a recording algorithm for SL3 format started (sample from HDS Gen3)
05/25/16 added test trimming of SL2 echograms to a new file:
only the selected channel with optional zeroing of coordinates is saved;
rewritten algorithm from sequential file reading to byte array
06/15/16 added reading and cropping of SL3 echograms to a new SL2 file;
echogram format SL3 parsed by 60% with the exception of displaying a 3D channel;
when trimming large files, the limit is 200MB per resulting file
10/30/16 added reading channel D3 of sonograms SL3:
while a fixed depth of 20m and a side scan width of 128m;
arrows indicate the value of the Track (where the boat actually moves)
and Course (where the nose of the sonar sensor looks), if there is such data in the log
11/08/16 the program was translated into English;
the fixed depth on 3D at 20m remains, and the width is displayed real;
added ability to overwrite track data values in the log
Course values, if there is such data in the log
10/22/18 limited support for the sl3v1 format is added,
from new instrument firmware with support for FishReveal;
such echograms are correctly converted to sl2 format
depth search algorithm is very crude, please do not kick ...
if there is constant mismatch and beeping increase the value
in the field 'Threshold of the difference in the calculated depth, cm' to values in meters (500 and more)
