We are a young company that recently began making low-cost sonars. We would like to know if it is possible to use some OPEN side scan sonar data format that will be supported by the Sonar Viewer and side scan mosaic application? Currently we use CSV as the transitional format for building maps with our 2D sonar and GPS receiver but we are eager ReefMaster to support our side scan data. Where should we begin from?

The only real answer is to use the XTF format, as it is the only widely used, open format around for sidescan sonar. RM doesn't currently support it, but v3 (mid 2022) will, so hopefully that will fit in with your timescales. Feel free to contact me on This email address is being protected from spambots.
